NC and PDP have little to offer to their people

While New Delhi never hesitated from calling pro resistance leadership proxies of Pakistan, it now seems to have decided to discredit its own proxies in Jammu and Kashmir. The way governor Satyapal Malik has been hammering NC and PDP, it seems that New Delhi is no longer interested in them. Their survival seems to be at stake mainly for the reason that both these regional parties have been on the political scenario more because of blessings of New Delhi.
It looks that New Delhi is now fed up with mainstream political parties and is in no mood to listen about autonomy or self-rule; ironically, the blue print of these documents was prepared in consultation with those who matter in Delhi, just to dilute and confuse the real Kashmir issue. The space for mainstream is shrinking with every passing day and both NC and PDP have little to defend and offer to their people. No one but the leadership of NC and PDP can better elaborate why New Delhi is hell bent to bulldoze them, but at least it is not for the reason that these parties had taken a tough stand over any particular issue that has harmed New Delhi’s interests or had shown New Delhi the mirror. The apologetic, compromising and casual approach of both main stream parties has not only emboldened New Delhi but exposed their real stamina and will. Of course political parties have every right to reach the corridors of power but once they achieve their goal they need to implement their agenda so that when they go to their people they feel some satisfaction and their claims have some takers. However both NC and PDP have been promising stars and moons when in power but bulldozing their own people once in power and making shameless surrenders. Rather than hiding their failures the mainstream parties accuse New Delhi of dividing their vote bank, but have never introspected that why should they expect others to worry about their agenda, fate and survival. Unfortunately both these parties seem yet under the illusion that without blessings of New Delhi nothing can change on ground. It can be true on occasions but not always. Such sick minds give New Delhi ample courage to hammer NC and PDP and make them fall in line. The hope mainstream parties had generated in 1996 and 2002 has proved like searching for water in desert. Their continuous surrenders have shaken the faith of Kashmiris. The mainstream parties are losing their relevance and New Delhi’s over confidence will deteriorate situation further in coming days. New Delhi’s ultimate aim seems to discredit everyone in Kashmir, so that Kashmiris get tired and start leaning towards New Delhi. But it may never happen and may rather add to further alienation, as whatsoever is happening is Kashmir is indigenous, and not even in the control of hard liners like Geelani Sahab. While mainstream parties are in a hurry to regain power, the masses have learned living in uncertainty. People understood the fact that resolution to Kashmir dispute needs patience, nevertheless the resolve not to surrender is becoming deep rooted among Kashmiris. Both the mainstream parties and New Delhi need to understand that the practice to avoid facing a situation will not always work, and trying to find shortcuts will prove counterproductive. The consequences of all this can only be imagined. once in power and making shameless surrenders.
