The Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party president, Altaf Bukhari on Thursday said that those who are responsible for killing hundreds of innocents during their rule don’t deserve to protest and hold sit-in at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.
As per reports, talking to reporters on the sidelines of a party workers convention at Zadibal said that they should first give answers about the innocent killings and then should sit at Jantar Mantar.
He said that it is unfortunate that those who are responsible for worsening the situation in Kashmir are now shedding crocodile tears for the people of the Valley.
Bukhari said that the people who are responsible for downgrading the status of Jammu and Kashmir are now protesting with 6 people at Jantar Mantar. “Why are they sitting at Jantar Mantar. First they should give answer about innocent killings which have taken place during their tenure,” he said.
“What was Mehbooba Mufti trying to convey at Delhi. Was she giving solace to the people of Jammu and Kashmir that she would not contest elections for them?” he questioned.
Bukhari said that if politicians will run away from elections, then it has only two interpretations, either they want to leave politics or they are afraid. “Anyone who joins politics has to face the people and it is only the people who decide who will be their representative,” he said.
He said that Mehbooba should decide about what kind of politics she is doing. “We are not able to understand her politics. It maybe their own way to do politics but Apni Party is only focused to serve our people,” he said.
He said that they were not brought by anyone to do politics as it was their own decision to serve the people. “If people support us then definitely Apni Party will take part in elections. If we would be in power then we can deliver on our promises.”
Talking about Omar Abdullah’s statement of holding PDP responsible for present situation of J&K, Bukhari said that nobody can decide on their own that who is responsible for the current situation. “It is only the people who can decide who is responsible for the Abrogation of article 370,” he said.
